Camilo Villegas - 65 British Open 2nd Round

King Cobra golf clubs Camilo Villegas produced a stunning performance in the 2nd round of The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
In the high winds that buffeted links again Villegas shot a 5 under par 65 including 8 birdies with 5 consecutively to finish his round putting him at only +1 for the tournament.
Spectacularly smashing the ball from the rough on the left of the eighteenth his approach shot actually hit the flag finishing at the back of the green. After what had gone before the putt dropping was almost inevitable and finished a memorable round of golf.

In his bag are the King Cobra golf clubs;
Driver: King Cobra L4V X 9
Fairway: King Cobra 2008 Speed LD 3, 5
Irons: King Cobra Carbon CB 3 iron

King Cobra Speed LD Drivers

King Cobra golf clubs have incorporated many features in their LD (Limit Dimension) drivers to make them playable and accessible to all standards of golfer.

The LD F is intended for golfers with a fast ball speed. It features a square alignment that combines with a precision tuned clubhead and shaft to give a slight draw bias and high launch.
The LD M is designed for moderate ball speed players prone to slice or fade. It’s available with a straight neck (SN) or offset (OS) head options to give an extra high launch and draw bias.
The LD Seniors’ version of the driver incorporates a lite shaft and increased loft of 12 degrees. And the LD Women’s an even lighter women’s shaft with 13.5 degrees of loft.

Each driver in the range pushes the maximum limits available and features the King Cobra golf clubs enhanced fast-back crown, deep dimples, large face, dual rhombus face insert and frequency tuning.

As always King Cobra golf clubs have created fantastic golf clubs but as ever before you buy do your research and try them on the range.

King Cobra Golf Clubs - L4V Driver

King Cobra golf clubs have a great range of clubs for 2008 with the King Cobra L4V being the stand out club. The L4V is King Cobra golf clubs most technologically advanced driver to date. The club takes it’s name from “Limit 4 Variables” as it is designed to reach the absolute limit of the four USGA defined performance variables for drivers i.e Maximum COR (.830), maximum head dimensions (5 inches x less than 5 inches).

The King Cobra L4V has the following variables;

Max COR: King Cobra golf clubs have patented their Dual Rhombus Face insert technology which when combined with it’s large club face area optimises face flex provides maximum COR or .830. This combination gives extreme ball speed and distance.

Max Head Dimensions: By utilising the full allowable dimensions the L4V has the weight pushed back and low with the effect of higher launch and greater distance.

Maximum Volume: By giving the L4V the full 460 cubic centimetres allowed King Cobra golf clubs have created a driver of maximum power and forgiveness.

Maximum Inertia MOI: With an figure of up to 5900 the L4V has the highest MOI of any driver King Cobra golf clubs have ever produced resulting in less twisting of the clubhead at impact thus giving more power and forgiveness on any off centre hits. This is achieved by the ultra-lightweight carbon composite crown and sole working with high density tungsten back weighting to shift the weight low and back.

One of King Cobra golf club’s tour pros, Camilo Villegas is using the L4V X this season and this is what he has to say about the club

The X version of the L4V is designed for extreme ball speed and extreme distance for accomplished players wanting a neutral ball flight with low spin and high launch to maximize distance and the shape shots.

You can see Villegas hitting his L4V X here.

The F version is designed for faster ball speed players and generates a high launch and a low-to-mid spin with a straight to slight draw-biased ball flight.

The M version has a high-launch, mid-spin, draw-biased ball flight giving maximum distance for players who have a tendency to slice or fade. With its draw-biased clubhead and ultra-light weight shafts, the M helps players keep the clubface square at impact for longer more forgiving straight drives.

King Cobra have produced a beautifully engineered golf club with the L4V driver and it is sure to help your game, why not attend a demo day or look one up at your nearest King Cobra golf clubs retailer.
